Jimmy Kimmel and wife's new baby has gotten the late-night talk show host thanking his fans for all the support, according to a report from the LA Times.

The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host took to Twitter the big announcement, posting "Congratulations to my beautiful and very tough wife @mollymcnearney on delivering our baby girl this morning".

Jimmy Kimmel's new baby, born last Thursday, is his first child with wife Molly McNearney. The new parents have named their daughter Jane.

"Thanks for all your kind baby wishes - turns out, not ALL tweets are mean!" Kimmel posted, referring to his show's "Mean Tweets" segment wherein celebrities would read irate online comments about themselves.

The host's rep reported to LA Times that Jimmy Kimmel's new baby and his wife were "doing well". McNearney is a writer on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show, whom he married in July 2013.

Jimmy Kimmel announced that he was having a new baby in February 2014 at a guesting on "The Ellen DeGeneres" show, where he confessed that "it has been a long time since (he) had to deal with a newborn".

Kimmel also joked about the baby during his guesting on "Ellen": "Karate or The Riddler are the names we're thinking of right now...And I would like the baby's middle name to be Effin. And not the curse version of it, like e-f-f-i-n. Like Ellen Effin DeGeneres. I mean, what a great name, right?"

Jimmy Kimmel's new baby follows 2 children from the 46-year-old host's previous marriage. He was previously married to Gina Kimmel with whom he begot daughter Katie (22) and son Kevin (20).

The arrival of baby Jane last Thursday was not the only gift received by Jimmy Kimmel that day. Nominees for the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards were also announced that day, and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is among the shows that are up for an Emmy Award for Best Variety Series.

Other nominees in the category include "Saturday Night Live", "The Colbert Report", "The Daily Show", "Real Time with Bill Maher", and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".
