Windows 9 images are leaked online and they show the interface bearing the Start Menu, which was missing in Windows 8.

Based on the screenshots of Windows 9 images leaked by Myce.com and Neowin.com revealed that Microsoft seems to be planning to return the most basic and staple button that Windows users have been familiar all this time.

The Start button or Start menu was removed when Microsoft announced Windows 8, an operating system that works well with touchscreen devices where a metro style app and tile organized screen will make it more interactive for touchscreen device users.

However, Windows 8 OS received mixed reactions from Windows users, primarily because because the Start Menu was missing.

Based on the Windows 9 images leaked online, the Start menu will find its way to the taskbar once again, and will be placed on the lower left corner of the screen. Once the mouse is hovered or clicked on the button, the Start Menu will show a split menu of the traditional apps list and a pin section of live app tiles frequently utilized by the user.

The Independent reported that based on the leaked images of the supposed look of Windows 9 Microsoft is already working on (hidden in the code name "Threshold"), the Windows creator may be "planning to make its touchscreen-optimized apps function in the more traditional mouse-and-keyboard desktop environment - they'll be putting them in windows."

Microsoft announced in April that they are already working in bringing back the Start menu, although they will not give up the metro/modern style apps and will just combine the two styles in the UI.

The two different Windows 9 images leaked online and the Start menu were previously reported by Myce.com and Neowin.net just weeks apart this July. Rumor has it that Microsoft is either working on a Windows 8.1 update, or Windows 9/Threshold which will be available in early 2015.
