It's official. After July 27 2NE1's Park Bom will no longer appear on the SBS variety show "Roommates."

"She didn't participate in the filming so there was nothing for us to film of her," Baek Jung Ryeol, a "Roommates" representative told TV Report. "It is true that she is leaving the show. There are no plans to have Park Bom participate any further. There were no discussions about it."

He was frank about the reasons.

"We edited Park Bom out of many parts in the upcoming episode," he said. "All of this is because it is a legal controversy."

The controversy arose when the newspaper the Segye Ilbo published an article about a 2010 investigation into the singer.

A controversy arose when the Segye Ilbo published an article about a 2010 investigation into the singer. The investigation focused drugs that are illegal in Korea and that the singer reportedly had sent to her grandmother's house. The newspaper wondered why the investigation ended without the singer's prosecution. The reporter suggested that she escaped solely because she was a member of a popular girl group.

Prosecution officials said that they took the prosecution seriously and that the singer did not receive any preferential treatment. The prosecution officials were quoted as saying they examined her medical record and prescription from a U.S. hospital, where amphetamines are legal when prescribed. "Through our investigation, we confirmed that Park had been prescribed amphetamines in the U.S.," said the prosecutor's office to Segye Ilbo. "When she came to Korea, she felt that the drugs that contained no amphetamines did not work as well, so she ordered amphetamine pills based on what she had been prescribed in the U.S."

According to YG's Yang Hyun Suk, the drugs were prescribed to treat post-traumatic stress that the singer suffered from a childhood incident.

When the news surfaced, the show's producers said that Park Bom could continue to take part in the show since none of the allegations against her were proven to be true, but she did not contact the producers.

At the time, a member of the production team was quoted as saying that they were waiting for her to express her intention to make an appearance.
Although Park Bom was a regular cast member on the show she has not taken part in filming since news of a previous investigation into her alleged drug smuggling became public. She also did not join the cast for the show's 100-day anniversary trip.

"Roommate" is a reality show featuring 11 celebrities who live together in one house. Park was one of the most popular celebrities on the show.
