New updates for the Crash Bandicoot reboot have been revealed.

Several rumors have been buzzing around that Sony and Naughty Dog are planning some big changes regarding the development of the new Crash Bandicoot game.

The Telegraph conducted an interview with Sony Entertainment Andrew House regarding the Crash Bandicoot remake.

"We've started to say that maybe there isn't anything wrong with going back and looking at characters that people still talk about, that were a big part of either their childhood or their youth. I definitely wouldn't close the door on that."

Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer further adds by saying.

"We still have people that worked on the Crash games in the studio. We never forget our past and it'd be great for nostalgic reasons."

According to reports from The PlayStation Magazine, Crash Bandicoot's co-creator Andrew Gavin hinted that the new "Crash" game will be an open-world style gameplay.

"Crash needs a total reboot. There's an opportunity to reset the history, and go back to his creation story and the original conflict with Cortex. In that context, you could reprise classic Crash 1 and 2's settings and villains. It would make sense to use a more modern, free-roaming style. I would concentrate on Looney Tunes-esque animation and really addictive action. That's what we did with the original Crash, and there's no reason it couldn't be done today. Given the current Crash games, people forget that he was once cool. Our Crash had a certain whimsical edge to him. Sure, it was goofy - but it wasn't dumb."

MotoringCrunch has reported before that Naughty Dog is planning on creating several games for the PS4. These games include a Crash Bandicoot reboot, The Last of US 2, Uncharted 4, and a new Jak and Daxter game.

"We definitely have another project on the scale of Uncharted in very early pre-production stages," said Naughty Dog's Evan Wells to the magazine. "We have the sizable team that it takes to get something like that off of the ground, but it's got a long runway in front of it. We have a lot of great ideas and some stuff that is already getting everybody jazzed and excited. So, it's a long way off before we can really start talking about it in detail."

So far, Uncharted 4 is one of the games that Sony and Naughty introduced in E3 2014 and is currently being developed by The Last of Us leads Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann.

But gaming website Cyberland has reported that Naughty Dog might consider putting the new Crash Bandicoot title for both PlayStation 3 and 4 consoles so that gamers will enjoy the nostalgia the game brings on the latest consoles

So what do you think of the new updates for the Crash Bandicoot reboot?
