Kazakh Volleyball Player Sabina Altynbekova Is Too Attractive For The Sport, Becomes An Online Internet Sensation

Sabina Altynbekova, a volleyball player from Kazakhstan, becomes an online sensation because she is just "too attractive" for the sport.

Sabina Altynbekova is a 17-year-old, 6-foot-tall volleyball varsity of the Kazakhstan national team. The stunner gained worldwide attention when her team played in Taiwan for the Asian under-19 Women's Volleyball Championships on July 17. Her stunning look is becoming more the focus on each of her team's games that critics, according to a report from Huffington Post, "say is a distraction on the game."

Vesti, a newspaper in Kazakhstan reported that "Fans just stare at her and they are not following the championship any more."

The Kazakh national team's coach Nurlan Sadikov is also a witness to the fandom that one of his players is getting. "It is impossible to work like this. The crowd behaves like there is only one player at the championship," said the coach quoted by the Inquisitr.

Coming from a family of athletes, Sabina Altynbekova chose sports over law school which her mother preferred, according to Vesti. Sabina's mother was also quoted as saying that her daughter is getting modelling offers because of her looks and height, but "she will not go there -- we as parents are against (it)."

The teen scene-stealer is not oblivious to the media attention she's getting right now, although in an interview, Sabina Altynbekova expressed that she likes the attention initially but gets tired of it.

"I was flattered at first, but it's all getting a little bit much," said Sabina Altynbekova. "I want to concentrate on playing volleyball and to be famous for that, not anything else."

Since she was discovered and became viral after the Kazakhstan national team's game stint in Taiwan, her social media account have garnered a huge following. Sabina Altynbekova's Instagram account soared to 250,000 followers in just over two weeks of her media exposure. While an unofficial Twitter account have over 26,000 following despite the volleyball beauty saying it is a "fake" account. The Kazakh beauty also got several unofficial Facebook pages with one of it getting almost 120,000 likes.
