'Batkid Begins' Official Trailer Starring Miles Scott Released; Crowdfunding Raised To Support Film On Big Screen

The "Batkid Begins" featuring Miles Scott gets its official trailer and the production team are on the move to raise money through crowdfunding to pursue the full production of the documentary to the big screen.

The "Batkid Begins" official trailer debuted last week on Comic-Con according to Huffington Post, and the production team behind it is pushing for the documentary to be shown on a wider audience through cinemas. 

The official trailer may have been released, but according to CNN, in order to launch "Batkid Begins" starring Miles Scott on the big screen, supporters of the documentary need funds to aid for the special effects integration, soundtrack of the film and aerial footage. Dana Nachman, an Emmy award-winning director and also the director of the film is now on the move to get funds to pursue the production.

Mashable reported that the production team of "Batkid Begins" aims to raise $100,000 for the aerial footage, soundtrack, music licensing and special effects to be used in the film. Currently, the crowdfund already has $52,720, and with 21 days left before the crowdfunding campaign closes, the production team hopes that more people will donate to make the film materialize.

Those who would like to donate will receive tokens of appreciation in exchange for their donations. Contributors may go to the IndieGoGo website for more information. The crowdfunding campaign will end on August 19.

Miles Scott, a leukemia survivor, became known in San Francisco, California because of his wish from Make-a-Wish Foundation to be "Batkid". Miles already have leukemia at 18 months old and was treated for the illness in 2013. Three months before his last treatment, Make-a-Wish Foundation launched a campaign to get volunteers in staging a "Gotham"-like community in San Francisco Bay Area and have volunteers play ordinary people to be saved by the Batkid from Batman-nemesis Penguin and Riddler.

Miles Scott's Batkid story attracted attention in San Francisco as well as Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in the upcoming "Batman v. Superman" movie. President Barack Obama also expressed his admiration for the "Batkid".  Indiegogo stated that the "Batkid saving San Francisco" stint trended on the World Wide Web and reached 2 billion people.
