In an interview with USA Today, Michael Bay said he believes he'll hand directing duties on Transformers 5 over to someone else so he can work on other projects:

"There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."
