With the "It" movie remake currently in the works, it will not be long before Pennywise the clown starts terrorizing people in their sleep once more. But this time around, there would be "scarier" changes as the remake promises to be more brutal and gorier, making the already-sinister image of Stephen King's clown even more terrifying than ever.

Back in the 90s, the three-hour-and-12- minute-long "It"TV movie (IMDB info) had sent shivers down every viewer's spine.

Screenrant thinks that "It" should have been made into a full-pledged movie instead of a mini-series back then. But just the same, the scares that Pennywise, whose character Tim Curry portrayed effectively, brought to the small screen was enough to make the creepy monstrous clown and the entire series itself memorable. So unforgettable was it that the show earned a solid fan base - and now their prayers for an "It" movie remake has finally been answered.

At present, more than a decade after the release of the mini-series, an "It" movie remake, this time on big screen, is finally underway. Based on the report of Liberty Voice, the film will be restructured into two parts.

Movie Pilot reported that the first part will focus on the horrific attack on the seven children comprising the Loser's club, which was their first encounter with Pennywise the clown. The second part revolves around their face-off with Pennywise when they return as adults to finally confront him when he comes back to terrorize their hometown again.

What makes this upcoming movie version of "It" different from the 90s television series?

One, a new actor will take on the role that Tim Curry made famous. Tim had given the creepy clown a demented twist to his already eerie character, thus immortalizing Pennywise the clown in the consciousness of his viewers and fans. As to who the chosen actor for the remake will be and whether or not he can live up to the image of Pennywise that Tim Curry has created...that remains to be seen.

Two, as previously mentioned, the slasher flick will be more visually graphic and suspenseful.

As to how these two factors would play out to recreate the "It" brand of killer-clown horror on the big screen, viewers need only wait until 2015 to find out.
