Joo Ji Hoon has played a prince more than once. He was a modern fictional prince reluctant to marry Yoon Eun Hye in "Princess Hours," also known as Goong." And he played the dual roles of prince and pauper in the "Prince and the Pauper" inspired film "I Am A King."

In those roles he may have learned that being royal does not always make you right.

For his next role, he will play a royal servant who secretly disobeys a wicked king's orders.

That film is "Gashin," Kim Kyu Dong's first historical film. The film recently announced its cast of actors.

According to Soo Films, which is producing the film, "Joo Ji Hoon, Kim Kang Woo, Lim Ji Yeon, Cheon Ho Jin and Lee Yoo Young have been confirmed to appear in Gashin."

The film is set in the Joseon era under the rule of the Yeonsangun, the 10th king of the Joseon dynasty. Yeonsangun started off being a good king but then became a terrible and cruel ruler, responsible for bloody purges and mass enslavements. He gathered 10,000 beautiful women and brought them to the palace to entertain him. Some say he was the worst tyrant in the Joseon dynasty and that may be why he was ultimately overthrown. His servants helped the people to overthrow him.

Joo Ji Hoon plays Soong Jae, a servant who seems to loyal when he is around the king but acts differently when the king is not around.

Joo Ji Hoon appeared in two films this year, "Good Friends" with co-stars Ji Sung and Lee Kwang Soo, as well as a Chinese film titled "Love Suspicion." His last drama was "Medical Top Team."

Kim Kang Woo plays the role of the king who is ousted by his own people because of his ruthless behavior.

He recently played Kang Do Yoon in the drama "Golden Cross" and this year appeared in two films "Tabloid Truth" and "Cart."

Lim Ji Yeon plays Dan Hee, one of the women brought to the palace by Soong Jae under the king's orders. Lim Ji Yeon appeared in the film "Obsessed" with Song Seung Hoon.

Cheon Ho Jin, who has played presidents in dramas dozens of times will play Soong Jae's father in this film. Lee Yoo Young,a  member of the band "Hello Venus" plays Dae Hee's rival in the court.

The film is set to begin filming next month and is expected to have a 2015 premiere.
