Good news Resident Evil fans! New updates for Resident Evil 7 have been revealed.

Capcom's seventh installment of the Resident Evil game franchise will star four characters and these are Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Barry Burton, and Ingrid Hunnigan.

According to NeoGAF, Ingrid Hunnigan's VA Salli Saffioti talked about "recurring" gigs in video games and she's currently wrapped work on her other upcoming projects like Batman: Arkham Knight. Interestingly, Resident Evil is her only recurring video game voice acting gig and it seems cast members from the CG movie Resident Evil Degeneration are also involved.

Crispin Freeman, who played Frederic Downing in RE: Degeneration, tweeted about recording for a "time secret video game" and indicated that other VAs who played characters in the film were with him and among them are Leon Kennedy's VA Matthew Mercer. Saffioti later expressed her delight at being able to work with "great friends" as part of specs for a character audition.

As for Claire Redfield and Barry Burton, Cyberland has reported that Capcom is considering putting both characters in the game, but whether the two are playable characters in the RE7 storyline is not yet confirmed, and might possible be a DLC character or playable one in RE7's Mercenaries.

When Resident Evil 7 was rumored a few years back, one of the most popular theories going on at the time was the return of Resident Evil main villain, Albert Wesker.

This theory was "confirmed" when an alleged employee of Capcom tweeted about Albert Wesker's voice actor going in to the studio to record lines for his character and that they are planning to add Alice from the Resident Evil movies to be a playable character in the game and that Alice would be voiced by Milla Jovovich herself.

But Cyberland claimed that Capcom released a statement about Alice not being included in Resident Evil official canon. It was speculated that it could be because Resident Evil 7 would see the return of Albert Wesker but that can't happen as he's been officially confirmed to be dead by Capcom but in the movies, he has survived. Wesker's VA DC Douglas has denied being contacted by Capcom for RE 7, but an alleged Capcom employee confirmed that he has been in the studio for recording which means that Wesker is in Resident Evil 7 along with Jovovich voicing Alice in the game.

Cyberland also reported that Resident Evil 7 will be released tentatively in the Fall of 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One and for the PC, and a possible firts look at of the game in the Tokyo Game Show 2014.
