Joan Rivers news recently made the headlines given the TV star's health scare that has put her in critical condition. Celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Charlie Sheen, and Donald Trump took to social media to express their concern for the 81-year-old "Fashion Police" host.

Joan Rivers news reported by E!Online said the comedienne is in "stable but critical condition" following complications from a throat surgery on Thursday. The veteran celebrity and "Fashion Police" host reportedly stopped breathing during a minor endoscopic procedure at a medical clinic.

Since Joan Rivers health news started circulating, celebrities and fans immediately sent encouraging messages through Twitter and other social media sites, wishing that the outspoken showbiz icon recovers soon. Some of the messages were compiled by ABC News.

Fellow comedienne Ellen DeGeneres tweeted: "I'm thinking about you, @Joan_Rivers, and sending lots of love your way."

Another comedienne, Kathy Griffin, posted what seemed to be a response to Joan Rivers sending her flowers: "Dear @Joan_Rivers, Got your flowers. I DO owe you another dinner. Get well my friend."

Even multi-billionaire Donald Trump sent a message to Joan Rivers, who won a season of his hit reality competition "Celebrity Apprentice". The multi-faceted mogul tweeted: "Good luck and best wishes to my dear friend, the wonderful and very talented Joan Rivers! Winner of Celebrity Apprentice, amazing woman."

Controversial actor Charlie Sheen even joked about the icon, calling her a "young lady". "@joan_rivers Please come back to us young lady. Your inimitable genius and compassion keeps a world you set," his tweet read.

Talk show hosts also sent love for the "Fashion Police" mainstay. Kelly Ripa tweeted: "Praying for the great @Joan_Rivers one of the true loves of my life."

"Lifting up @JoanRivers in love as she battles for life . Praying for Melissa and the family as well," said host TV Kathie Lee Gifford.

According to E!Online, a source said doctors "were putting a scope down (Joan Rivers') throat to check her vocal cords" when she stopped breathing. An emergency call was then made and the comedienne was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

E!Online reported that the notoriously candid fashion critic is still in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

Joan Rivers news was also reported by Washington Post, saying a rep for the hospital issued a statement on behalf of the icon's family, namely her 46-year-old celebrity daughter Melissa Rivers.

"(Joan Rivers') family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available," the statement read.
