Walt Disney is coming with yet another story to tell.

In "Saving Mr. Banks", the audience was able to have a glimpse of the life of Walt in the 1960s. With "Walt Before Mickey", they will be taken to the pre-Depression era when Walt had four studios and moved from Missouri to California, Deadline wrote.

This indie period drama is based on "Walt Before Mickey: Disney's Early Years, 1919-1928" by Timothy S. Susanin with a foreword by Diane Disney Miller. In reference to the biography of the author, Susanin took notice of the missing details in Walt's past - the years before the first "Mickey Mouse" cartoon - that he made huge efforts to find Walt's missing decade.   

Thomas Ian Nicholas ("American Pie") plays the role of Walt Disney. Others in the cast are Jon Heder (Roy), Jodie Sweetin (Charlotte Disney), David Henrie (Rudy Ising), Armando Gutierrez (Ub Iwerks), Conor Dubin (Charles Mintz), Ayla Kell (Bridget), Taylor Gray (Friz Freleng), Hunter Gomez (Hugh Harman), Flora Bonfati (Margarete Winkler), Kate Katzman (Lilian Disney), and Sheena Colette (Dessie).

According to the movie's website, pre-orders for DVD are already accepted. First 1,000 people to place their orders will be lucky to receive movie posters and shirts. Expected DVD release date is on December 2014.

The trailer shows Walt's interest in sketches. He sold his first sketches when he was only seven years old and eventually developed his passion in animation. He started his first animation studio in a barn with a handful of staff until he moved to a bigger space with a bigger number of people. He enjoyed success but he also had struggles to deal with. In the midst of his difficulties, he remembered his dad saying "Let me tell you something about life, always finish what you start, and anything worth doing is worth doing well".    

The Walt Disney film "Walt Before Mickey" is from Conglomerate Media, Jeff Rice Films, Bon Aire Productions and Kvibe Productions. They have yet to lock distribution. Executive producers are Jeff Rice, Arthur Bernstein, and Gutierrez.
