American Idol Season 14: Adam Lambert Returning? ‘Trespassing’ Singer To Come Back On The Fox Show As Guest Judge!
After visiting as a guest mentor last season, Adam Lambert once again helped out the show that shot him to superstardom. The 'Trespassing' singer joined Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr as a guest judge on the 'American Idol' season 14 New York auditions, Music Times reported.
He subbed for Keith Urban for the New York auditions this week at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
The country singer has been mourning with his wife, Nicole Kidman, in Australia after the passing of her father.
According to People, Dr. Antony Kidman passed away on September 12 while visiting his daughter Antonia and her children in Singapore when he had a fatal accidental fall. He was a clinical psychologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital as well as a director of health psychology at the University of Technology in Sydney.
ince the New York call back audition for 'American Idol' season 14 was already scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, Fox decided to invite Lambert as a substitute for Urban.
"Adam Lambert will be serving as guest judge at the NY auditions. Our thoughts are with Keith and his family during this difficult time," American Idol announced via Twitter on September 15.
He was considered as a judge last year, however, he ended up mentoring the contestants alongside Chris Daughtry instead.
Based on the photo J-Lo uploaded on Instagram, the 'For Your Entertainment' singer seems to be getting along quite well with the two 'Idol' judges. He wore a bright blue suit as he stood beside a red-lipped J-Lo and a fierce-looking Connick, Jr.
