Terminator Genesis Plot: Kyle Reese Actor Jai Courtney Calls New Movie A 'Reset' Original Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms 'Time Traveling' Storyline!
Exciting news of the new Terminator franchise! It seems that the actors starring in the movie itself are not shy about talking about what the new storyline will be about. In a recent interview, actor Jai Courtney who is playing the role of Kyle Reese clears the air about the movie being a reboot or sequel. So which is it? According to the actor in a recent interview with Collider, based on the Terminator Genesis plot, it is neither a reboot or a sequel. "It's more of a 'reset.' That's the awesome thing about when you play with time travel. We can kind of get away with, you know, maybe we're introduced to a world that audiences know but circumstances can change and that shifts the course of everything," the actor shares.
Previously, the actor was also interviewed about what he can reveal about the Terminator Genesis plot, and at that time, he didn't actually know what to label this new franchise in the Terminator universe. "I don't know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one of the early Terminator movies. And it doesn't necessarily carry on from the point where we left off," Jai shares. "We start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point."
Even the original star of the Terminator movies has not been shy about sharing some juicy details about the new Teminator Genisys movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been posing about the filming of several scenes. He also gave interviews where he confirmed that this new movie will all about time travelling, which allows the filmmakers to really play around with the Terminator Genesis plot and storyline.
This new Terminator film will see a new cast of characters to take over from the original one. Emilia Clarke (who plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones) as Sarah Connor, while Jason Clarke (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) plays John, while Jai Courtney (Unbroken, Insurgent) will be playing Kyle Reese. And in further good news to fans of the original film, it's been also reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger will make a cameo in the movie. Watch out for this new installment in the Terminator franchise when it hits theaters on in July 2015.
