"American Horror Story: Freak Show" cast Sarah Paulson cried on set as she remains apprehensive about playing the conjoined twins, Bette and Dot. Meanwhile, John Caroll Lynch just loves playing Twisty the Clown.

In a report from Vulture, "American Horror Story: Freak Show" cast Sarah Paulson narrated the time when she was shooting her scene as Bette.

"So I was doing my part," she said. "But as Dot I'm writing with my dominant side and my voice kept wanting to come out as Dot. I freaked out. Before I knew it, I was crying on set."

Then creator Ryan Murphy reassured her that what she's doing is trailblazing so it's okay to be anxious.

American Horror Story: Freak Show" cast Sarah Paulson said that Ryan Murphy's words were "nice, but I was just so scared. I am so scared."

Meanwhile, her "American Horror Story: Freak Show" co-star John Caroll Lynch told LA Times that he just loves playing Twisty The Clown, which has unsurprisingly become a standout even with all the colorful characters in the show.

He recalled that he was approached by Ryan Murphy who told him that he "wanted to create the most terrifying clown in the history of television."

"It's great to play a character that is so starkly drawn, and it's really fun to be a bad guy. In this case I really like that Ryan and the writers have provided not only a really terrific, scary character, but also they provided a lot of humanity that you'll learn about as the season progresses," he added.

Earlier, Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that they really wanted to create a very different clown from the typical image in pop culture.

"So we worked a little bit before we even started to write on the backstory and we really came up with a gruesome, hideous story that you find out in episode four," he said. "You see the bottom part of his face in episode two. But in episode four we spend a lot of time with that and you see it more and you learn what is going on with him and it's really awful and scary."
