Sources have confirmed that "Anaconda" singer Nicki Minaj has officially broken things off with boyfriend Safaree Samuels. Rumor has it that the reason of the break up was because Samuels was starting to get green-eyed with jealous over her rising success.

TMZ reported that there was an initial arrangement that Minaj was going to be the breadwinner and that Samuels was only going to be a backup singer, hype man, and personal assistant. That is, apart from being the man whom the star dates.

They have known each other for decades, having been friends since they were only teenagers. Samuels even had three tattoos of her, one on his arm and two on his chest.

Rumors say that he got tired of having the lime light stolen from him and that he no longer wants to be just someone in the background. He allegedly started to act bitterly towards Minaj, sometimes even angry when it comes to the artist's success.

The "Superbass" has finally had it with him. His not showing up during one of her shows was the last straw as Nicki Minaj was left freaking out about getting a new hype man. When she confronted him about his absence, he reportedly flipped out on her, prompting the former "American Idol" judge to bring their relationship to a close.

Although reports of how Minaj broke up with her former hype man have been circulating all over the Internet, what really sealed the deal about the end of their relationship was when Samuels was spotted with his previous tattoos of Minaj were no longer where they used to be.

He certainly did not waste any time in getting the ink off his skin. He had them covered up, while the one on his right arm seems to have been dramatically faded.
