Would AMC's "The Walking Dead" break the hearts of many of its viewers when the Norman Reedus' character Daryl Dixon turns out to be gay?

But then, who will know if this rumor on Daryl Dixon's sexuality might hurt some of many of its fans? Norman Reedus said as published on Wetpaint, "They cross-reference some of the characters in the comic book with us, and there's a character in the comic book named Jesus who is gay and he's a total badass."

There are characters and scenes in the TV series that don't exist or are different from the comic series, and one of that is the existence of Daryl Dixon. "I think that's where that came from," Reedus added.

We all know that Norman Reedus' character in "The Walking Dead" only lives in the television series. To give connection to each character and scene, perhaps, executive producers Robert Kirkman and Frank Darabont think the closes link will be Daryl Dixon and Jesus.

In an interview with ET, the 45-year-old actor was asked what he thinks of Daryl being gay, he replied, "Whatever that decision is, I want to play it as real as possible. When a boy meets a girl, it's usually very awkward. I would like to play the awkwardness up as much as possible."

[Spoiler Alert!] In the Season 5 premiere of "The Walking Dead" last October 12, wherein the promise of the most brutal and badass season seems to be fulfilled, viewers have witnessed how Daryl missed Carol when they met outside Terminus. Would that be the start of their love story?

However, TWD will finally reveal where Beth Greene is after she was "allegedly" kidnapped by unknown person or group. In the teaser, we saw her on the hospital bed, wearing patient's gown.

Perhaps, Daryl will be put in the most awkward scene this season. Whatever that "awkward" that Reedus was talking about, be it Daryl being gay or Daryl in love with either Carol or Beth, here's what he said, particularly in case the crossbow-expert-zombie-killer will find love, "I don't think Daryl's the type of romantic guy who's going to throw you up against a tree in the moonlight, you know what I mean? I think it's going to be as awkward as possible."
