Kenneth Branagh's 'Cinderella' 2015 trailer is finally here!

After much anticipation from fans of Disney's classic fairytales, the first official teaser featuring Lily James as the titular Cinderella, Richard Madden as Prince Charming, Cate Blanchett as Ella's evil stepmother and Helena Bonham Carter as her fairy godmother, has finally been released!

Perhaps the most interesting part of the trailer is how grandiose the characters' costumes are.

Ella's glass shoes in the 'Cinderella' 2015 trailer were reportedly created in collaboration with Swarovski so fans can be sure that it's made of genuine crystals!

Speaking to Vogue, Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell shared how Oscar nominee and Cinderella director Kenneth Branagh gave her enough room to design the dresses and accessories for the movie due out on March 15 next year.

"The bad guy is always the most fun to dress," the three-time Oscar winner revealed. "And the good, kind person is always the most challenging."

For this film, Powell aimed to dress the characters in "a nineteenth-century period film made in the 1940s or '50s."

"They are meant to be totally ridiculous on the outside-a bit too much and overdone-and ugly on the inside," she added.

As for Ella's wardrobe, she didn't want to dress her in rags, like the cartoon version. Instead, "a dress that starts out pretty and ends up looking faded, tired, and worn out."

When asked about her extravagant ball gown, Lily James admitted that she felt "both empowered and scared" when she first put it on.

"How could I live up to this?" the 'Downton Abbey' admitted. "Then I realized I could use that fear to show me how Cinderella would feel at that moment."

As for Cinderella's iconic glass footwear, Powell sought help from Swarovski to recreate an 1890's shoe she found in a Northampton museum. The shoe reportedly had a 5-inch heel and no platform.

"So besides the fact that Cinderella's slipper is crystal, the shape of the last makes it impossible to walk in," she said.

Is it really comfortable to walk in, as Helena Bonham Carter pointed in the trailer?

"I guess the glass slipper is the ultimate fetish shoe, isn't it?" Powell coyly pointed out.
