Serena Williams lingerie shoot actually made the tennis champ a little self-conscious as the Australian underwear company's executive is delighted that the athlete signed on to represent them.

The Bro Bible said that Serena Williams has never been afraid to expand her brand outside of the tennis court, "and apparently one of those outside business ventures includes her working with Australian bra company Berlei."

"Not that this comes as much of a surprise, nor does that fact that she is even doing a little of the actual modeling of the products she's endorsing," it said. "We already know Serena is in tremendous bikini shape based on the pics she shared a week or so ago."

But Serena Williams' lingerie shoot wasn't without its awkwardness as the multiple tennis champion claimed that it made her self-conscious to be posing before the cameras with only her underwear on.

"I'm a normal woman - I can get self-conscious. But I think that is just natural for women to feel that way," she told the Daily Telegraph. "In our society we're often led to believe we have to look a certain way but I have learned to be proud of my curves and to embrace them.

However, Serena Williams said that it's important for women to love themselves for who they are.

The lingerie company described itself as "dedicated to engineering sports bras that offer women the best protection when they're exercising," and that it's the only "bra manufacturer that works with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) to deliver a product that actually reduces breast bounce."

According to test results by the AIS, Berlei's Electrify Underwire sports bra "can reduce breast bounce by up to 50%."

Berlie's senior marketing manager, Kellie Warwick, told MailOnline that the success of Serena Williams' lingerie shoot was because she was a natural on the set. "She was without a doubt a natural behind the camera and was an absolute delight to work with. She is such a professional," Warwick said.
