Nick Diaz news reveals the elder Diaz expressing his regrets after facing what he described as "mediocre" fighters in the past. The former UFC welterweight title contender also mentioned that he is not that in love with his choice of profession.

Diaz will be facing a fighter whom many still consider as the "Greatest of All-Time," former long-time UFC middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva at UFC 183 on January 31. It will be Diaz's debut fight at middleweight, after a year-long absence since his last fight against another former long-time champion, Georges St-Pierre.

The former Strikeforce champion will be facing what could be the toughest assignment of his career. But in his appearance on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour, Diaz expressed his regrets in the decisions he had made in the past, in terms of the fights he took.

"I look back and think about why did I take one of these, you know, mediocre level opponents or fights, or something like that," Diaz lamented. "I could see myself going, I didn't need to do that, I didn't need to go there."

Nick Diaz news reveals the seemingly outrageous demands he had going with the UFC before he signed his new three-fight deal in July.

"I mean, I wasn't going to walk out of there with something I wasn't happy with," Diaz said. "So I just, you know, I was able to score a deal I can't refuse. That's how I look at it."

Nick Diaz news also reveals that despite being a fighter for more than a decade now, the 31-year old native of Stockton, California admits that he does not enjoy fighting that much, even if it his primary source of income.

"I'm not fanatical or in love with being an MMA fighter," he continued. "It's just, I'm the right guy for the job nowadays. Pretty much after my first couple pro fights I wound up being the right guy for the job, so that's why I'm still here, and I'll fight the right fights if I have the opportunity."
