The rumors about Sarah Hyland and "Insurgent" cast Ansel Elgort dating surfaced when the "Modern Family" star posted on her Instagram photos on her recent 24th birthday bash over the weekend

According to Perez Hilton, the guest list for the bash included her BFFs Lorde, Jaime King, Taylor Swift and Hailee Steinfeld.

The actress captioned one of the photos on her Instagram: "Rang in my 24th year of life with some pretty amazing people I'm very grateful for. @jaime_king @taylorswift@kyle_newman"

But J-14 said that "Insurgent" cast Ansel Elgort appeared to be very comfortable around Sarah Hyland.

"Ansel Elgort and Sarah Hyland were spotted getting super-cozy during her birthday party, sparking rumors that they're dating!" it said. "The actress posted a collage of photos on Instagram hanging out with some of her besties Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding for her big day - and 'The Fault in Our Stars' actor was also there, wrapping her in a big bear hug."

However, the magazine said that there were no "major hints that they're actually dating" even if the two looked cute together.

It noted that Sarah Hyland "was also really cuddly with Taylor, so maybe she's just an affectionate person?"

"Insurgent" star Ansel Elgort saw his star rise after the success of "The Fault in Our Stars" and "Divergent," although he's trying to carve a career as a music DJ on the side. He was also rumored to be dating his co-star Shailene Woodley but both actors have denied they are anything more than friends.

But Shailene Woodley is rumored to be dating Hawaiian folk singer Nahko so maybe there's no truth to the rumors that she's with "Insurgent" star Ansel Elgort. According to Perez Hilton, "Nahko is a Hawaiian folk singer of Apache-Puerto Rican-Filipino descent. Shailene has been championing his band Medicine For The People for months, sometimes mentioning them in interviews."
