Casey Kasem's body was ordered by a judge to remain in Norway, denying the request if the "American Top 40" host's children to return his rotting corpse to the US.

According to a report from Westside Today, Judge Clifford Klein of the Los Angeles Superior Court clarified that the law clearly states that Jean Kasem is the rightful keeper of Casey Kasem's body. The second wife has been accused by the radio star's adult children of escaping to Norway with the corpse.

Although admitting that he had jurisdiction on the case, Judge Clifford Klein explained that Casey Kasem's widow is authorized to dispose her late husband's corpse, regardless of how long it will take. The only condition is for Jean Kasem to make sure she takes care of the remains.

The denial of Casey Kasem's body's return to the US is contrary to his eldest children's plans to bury their father at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

As a response, Westside Today reported that the lawyer of Casey Kasem's eldest children shared that her clients are "disappointed".

Attorney Martha Jo Patterson admitted: "We're disappointed but we did all that we could."

The lawyer added: "She (Jean Kasem) is just allowing the body to rot."

As expected, the camp of Jean Kasem was pleased with the judge's decision to not let her stepchildren return Casey Kasem's body to the US.

Jean Kasem's lawyer said: "We're very gratified...This is what Casey would have wanted and what Jean wants."

The radio veteran's death has been surrounded by intrigues as Casey Kasem's children said their father was being kept away from them by Jean Kasem.

According to People magazine, the feud started after the beloved radio star became sick with Parkinson's and dementia, then eventually died last June 15 in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Kerri Kasem then sent a lawyer to Gaffney Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Tacoma, Washington, where Casey Kasem's body was confirmed by police to be missing.
