Mass Effect 4 Release Date For 2016 Rumored To Be Delayed After Threats From Gamers Following BioWare's Decision To Add Gay Relationships To ME4? Devs Respond To The Issues Surrounding The Controversy

BioWare has reportedly responded to rumors allegedly saying that the Mass Effect 4 release date for 2016 is going to be delayed.

Cyberland reported that some PC gamers are threatening to pirate the game after disappointments with BioWare for various reasons ranging from prioritizing consoles to supporting the LGBT community by placing gay relationships in their games.

Peter Maxwell of The GamingRepubliq said that rumors of BioWare delaying/cancelling the Mass Effect 4 release date for PC are untrue. Below is a statement from a spokesperson for BioWare addressing the issue:

"Mass Effect won't be delayed at all. The game is still in developement and we are poised to deliver the next-gen Mass Effect you guys have been waiting for"

And here’s some more good news: Mass Effect 4 is nearing completion as BioWare is now beta testing the game internally.

Alan Haslow of Motoring Crunch has reported that Aaryn Flynn, the GM of Bioware's Edmonton and Montreal studios, revealed that Mass Effect 4 is coming closer to completion as Aaryn Flynn has confirmed that he has been playing the Mass Effect 4 beta for a while now.

Aaryn Flynn describes ME4 as beautiful, ambitious and fresh while at the same time being recognizable and fun for the veteran players of past Mass Effect games.

Alan Haslow notes that what Mass Effect fans can get from Aaryn Flynn's statement is that the game developers over at BioWare have been beta testing Mass Effect 4 for a while now due to the fact that Aaryn Flynn's comments about Mass Effect 4's gameplay was dated last month. Fans can assume that more beta testing, polishing and new gameplay additions may have occurred since that time.

"Mass Effect 4" will have some graphical enhancements and new dynamics in the game as it will run on the "Frostbite 3" game engine. The "Frostbite 3" game engine is the game engine being used for "Dragon Age 3."

Gamers have started to revisit the "Mass Effect" trilogy and are playing it again from the beginning. Retailers have picked up on this and have started to reduce the price of the trilogy in the hope of selling more before "Mass Effect 4" hits the shelves.

Gamefly is offering a good deal as gamers can pick up the "Mass Effect" trilogy for $39.99. This means that each title costs less than $14 each. Gamers who are wondering what all the fuss is about with "Mass Effect 4" may want to take advantage of the price drop.

There is a great deal of talk about the save files and what influence this could have on "Mass Effect 4." Transferring save files are important to "Mass Effect" as each decision and its consequence carries over from the previous game to the next game.

This presents a conundrum to next-gen gamers if "Mass Effect 4" hits the Xbox One and the PS4 as the "Mass Effect" trilogy is not available for the PS4 and Xbox One. According to Monica Walken of Motoring Crunch, next-gen console gamers may have to pay for save game transfers, but this is just speculation.

Aaryn Flynn however tweeted that next-gen versions of the "Mass Effect" trilogy are being talked about but no confirmation if "Mass Effect" will be ported to the Xbox One or the PS4.
