NBA Trade Rumors: Amare Stoudemire Unhappy With The NY Knicks And Wants Out? Star Forward Could Be Traded To Another Team Soon! Who Could Take Him?

Amare Stoudemire has been a hot topic in the NBA trade rumor mill and this one is the most credible rumor yet.

Trade rumors between Jeff Green for Amare Stoudemire have surfaced recently. This might actually work as the Celtics are more likely the team that wants to rebuild now. With Amare's expiring contract while still being a serviceable forward, plus Marcus Smart poised to becoming their future leader, it would make sense for the Celtics to deal Jeff Green to a Knicks team who would like to make the most of their franchise star Carmelo Anthony's stint in NY.

This was already suggested in Grantland's NBA Preview with Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose. Simmons, also known as the The Sports Guy-spoke through his fictional character, Clairvoyant Bill.

"Clairvoyant Bill thinks Jeff Green gets traded to the Knicks the next four months. And here's the trade. Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace to the Knicks, Amare's expiring, Iman Shumpert, 2018 first-rounder and a pick swap that will be protected at some point within the next five years for the Celtics and Knicks pick."

This would bring the era of two All-stars in New York. "I actually like the thought of Jeff Green and Carmelo together, I don't know why I think he would get him the ball in all the right spots. I think that would work."

The Knicks have endured the Amare Stoudemire mistake for so long. Many are still on the fence about the Carmelo Anthony trade and all the assets they flipped for him. But the trade for Rondo would be the most reasonable and may result in New York being a..wait for it..a contender again.

Will Boston bite? There are no assets here except cap relief, that may translate into nothing if they don't get a franchise player in the summer of 2015. However, Basketball Insiders gives the Celtics a reality check: "Come this time next year the Celtics will feel a lot more pressure to trade Green unless they want to risk losing him without getting anything in return during the offseason."
