Did Taylor Swift hurt Ed Sheeran so much that it forced the Brit singer to write a song about her?

Reports say that is totally false! Rumors started to circulate that Ed's single "Don't" was about Tay-Tay.  But as the "Thinking Out Loud" singer told Parade Magazine, he wrote the song for another popular artist, and not for his bestie.

It's "about someone who's well known, but not Taylor," he said.

"The magazine does note that it's been rumored the single is about fellow Brit Ellie Goulding. The "Anything Can Happen" singer dated Sheeran briefly, and they were caught holding hands at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards," Us Magazine reported.

Taylor and Ed remain very close and good friends. Eversince the two got together to work on Taylor's album "Red," the pair stayed in touch and remained pals.

"My competition at the moment is probably somebody like Taylor," Ed told Syndey Confidential. "It's a healthy competition. She's someone to aspire to because she's one of the biggest touring acts and record-selling acts on the planet. That's where I want to be and I'll work up to that point."

Meanwhile, the Brit cutie also talked about his future plans.  Does he think he'll still be doing the same thing years from now?

"I know this isn't going to last forever," he shared. "Now is the time when I'm making my musical statements and being cool and going to parties. But I don't think I'll be living this life in 10 years' time. If I am, please slap me."

He eventually wants to be "back home, bunch of kids. At 33, I should be starting to settle down."
