Good news for horror game and Silent Hill fans as Hideo Kojima has confirmed the Silent Hills PS4 release date.

Hideo Kojima has revealed in an interview, the much anticipated release date for Silent Hills.

As was reported by Crossmap, Hideo Kojima said in an interview that:

"Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only. Either way we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely until 2016, lots of time left."

He also revealed that the game could be open world and that's why the Fox Engine was used:

"All I can say is that Fox Engine is meant for open world I cannot discuss more on the game design itself in detail yet,"

Meanwhile, Norman Reedus has admitted in an interview that he's excited to be part of this project while giving praise to the brains of Silent Hills, Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro:

"I'm super excited to be a part of Silent Hills. Both those guys are geniuses at what they do. We haven't shot the 'heavy stuff' yet. Kojima approached me right after Guillermo did."

It has been previously reported that Konami is allegedly gunning for a Halloween 2016 release for Silent Hills but the launch date could probably be moved to an earlier date if development and fan demand allows it.
