Will Lindsay Lohan Go To Jail Again? Chikungunya Is No Excuse To Skip Out On Community Service Responsibilities

Soon after being released from being hospitalized for Chikungunya, Lindsay Lohan is reportedly being questioned as to whether she’s actually finished the community service hours in a reckless driving case from 2013, according to Fox News.

A California prosecutor reportedly isn’t accepting of the fact that the 28-year-old actress received credit for “hanging out with fans,” according to E! News.

The “Mean Girls” star reportedly received credit for attending a meet-and-greet with volunteers involving a play she was a part of, but Santa Monica Deputy City Attorney Terry White told Judge Richard A. Stone that that was not acceptable, according to an NBC affiliate.

“If this was Lindsay Smith, nobody would allow this,” explained White.

He added, “I’d love to hang out with a celebrity all day and see their life, but this is not community service.”

The “Machete” actress also reportedly received credit for a “work shadowing experience” with two people. White reportedly described the experience as the actress allowing people to “basically hang out with her.”

“She got to shake hands with people, and that’s community service,” White stated.

White reportedly stated that if he’s able to show that Lohan didn’t complete her 80 hours of community service hours in the nine days that are documented, he would seek jail time for the actress.

The judge has reportedly given White until February 18 to try to verify Lohan’s hours. Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, has reportedly insisted that she’s been on top of her work despite being hospitalized with Chikungunya, a rare mosquito-borne virus.

Holley has reportedly stated that a “true level of community service has been performed by Ms. Lohan.”
