The "Penny Dreadful" season 2 premiere is getting a new date. The Victorian-era Showtime series will now be airing on May 2, 2015 at 10 pm. It was initially scheduled for an April 26 air date.

According to International Business Times, this new date removes the show from being in direct competition with "Game Of Thrones."

The "Penny Dreadful" season 2 premiere will hopefully have better ratings now that it's already an hour later than HBO's epic fantasy series.

"Next season is very different," series creator John Logan shared about the next season. "Having spent 10 years building this world in my mind, I talk about the first three seasons of what the story is."

Part of season two's fresh aspect will reportedly be the new evil and they won't be creatures from other worlds. The group will face a more human but still very dangerous villain.

The trailer for the series already teased Madame Kali (Helen McCrory) as the big bad this season, on top of each character dealing with their own inner demons.

Reeve Carney (who plays the immortal Dorian Grey) teased to a group of fans in a video released by Showtime that the next season will "deal heavily with the occult." Madame Kali can also be seen as a "pure villain."

According to Dread Central, Patti LuPone will be guest starring as a significant person in Vanessa Ives' (Eva Green) life. Douglas Hodge, Sarah Greene and Johnny Beauchamp will also be guest starring for next season.

Meanwhile, director James Hawes shared the editing process for "Penny Dreadful" season 2 premiere.

"So this is the edit timeline...here are the images & sounds which will thrill in Season2!" Hawes captioned a photo he posted on Twitter.
