Rain And Kim Tae Hee Spend The Holiday Apart

Rain and his girlfriend Kim Tae Hee are spending the Lunar New Year apart. While they probably miss each other, working through the holiday promises to be very good for Rain's bank account. The singer-actor is currently working on the Chinese drama "Diamond Lover." And according to Korean media he received $5,528,460 for the role.

"After filming for his drama "Diamond Lover, he went back to Korea for a few days, but went back to Shanghai to resume filming," said the JTune representative.

In his "Diamond Lover" role, Rain plays the perfectionist CEO of a diamond company. He's had plenty of practice playing a CEO as he recently played a music company executive in "My Lovely Girl" and he founded his own record label.

Kim Tae Hee also recently played a role in a Chinese drama. She appeared in the 40-episode drama "Wang Zizhi," playing the role of the famous calligrapher's wife.

While Rain was filming "Diamond Lover," Kim traveled back to China to visit him on set. The couple was photographed together in Shanghai. Earlier in the year they were snapped at a theme park in Los Angeles and also at a barbecue restaurant in Seoul.

Kim Tae Hee is currently in the U.S. for two weeks of photo shoots and is expected to return to Korea after that.

The two met when they did a Valentine's Day photo shoot and became friends. They announced that they were in a relationship in January 2013 while he was still serving his mandatory military service. Despite his service they did find time to see each other.

The couple has been dating for two years now but there has been no announcement of wedding plans. When he was baptized in the Catholic faith in 2014, rumors about an upcoming wedding quickly began spreading. Kim Tae Hee and her family are practicing Catholics and a baptism would make it easier for the actors to marry. However, his agency denied the wedding rumors.

While no wedding plans have been divulged, the couple seems close and committed. He has praised her for standing by him in the middle of various controversies, saying she was truly great and cared for him.

"My girlfriend is someone I can rely on and trust when I am feeling down," he once said.

Although Rain was rumored to have dated before, his relationship with Kim Tae Hee is the first one he went public with.
