Toyota Tacoma pick-up has been the leader in midsize truck segment for a decade now. And the Japanese automaker's medium sized vehicle has been redesigned to face its competition in Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon.

Toyota Tacoma has proven once again that it is unbeatable in its sector. According to torquenews.com, Tacoma trumped Chevy Colorado in a recently concluded "Pick-up of the Year" voting.

Reportedly, the TRD Pro, the best Tacoma so far, landed in second place sweeping Chevy Colorado in 4th place. While Colorado is a good truck, it can't equal the Tacoma yet based on votes.

"We think the Tacoma TRD Pro is the best Tacoma yet for those who want a smaller pick-up with big off-road capability, and we think it's possibly the most capable small pick-up available in the U.S. today," fourwheeler.com stated.

"If we had a wish list, we'd add a front diff locker and a manual shift T-case, but even without those items, this truck is ready and willing to hit the trail. The new TRD Pro package includes a well thought out group of mods that combine to make this truck very off-road capable and a lot of fun," the publication added.

Fourwheeler Network hold a weeklong test for the "latest and greatest pick up trucks" to choose the "Pick-up Truck of the Year" (PTOTY).

"For 2015, the field of competitors included the all-new Chevy Colorado Z71, the 6.4L Hemi-powered Ram Power Wagon, and the Bilstein/TRD-equipped Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. The all-new '15 Ford F-150 also qualified, but Ford was unable to provide a vehicle by the test date. To qualify for PTOTY, vehicles must be all-new or substantially revised from the previous model year, have a two-speed transfer case, a production run of at least 1,500 vehicles available in the U.S., and be on sale by March 15, 2015," Fourwheeler Network said.

Among the listed pick-up, Ram Power Wagon topped the list followed by Toyota Tacoma and Tundra for second and third places and Chevy Colorado in 4th place.
