Samsung Galaxy Tab A Series Will Be Launched On May 1 In The US, Tab 8.0 Costs $229.99 And The Tab A 9.7 Is At $299
The Samsung Electronics America has disclosed that the Samsung Galaxy A series will be launched on May 1 in the US, according to GSM Arena.
The Samsung Galaxy A series was previously introduced in Russia last March. Now the device is heading to the US next month.
"This latest addition includes some of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab series, while streaming connectivity," said Gary Riding the senior vice president, Mobile Computing at Samsung Electronics America, cited Business Wire.
"The tablet will let users connect to everything that matters, from family members, friends and colleagues, to work and entertainment content, as well as other smart Samsung devices," he added.
The site added that the Samsung Galaxy A series will be available for pre-order starting April 20 from major retailers and at Samsung.com.
Interested consumers will choose between the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 at $229.99 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 version at $299.99.
Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and 9.7 will be available in Smoky Blue, Smoky Titanium and White. In addition, the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab 9 version in Smoky Titanium will have an S-Pen for $349.99, which 17.will be available starting May 7.
According to the Samsung website, both devices have the same resolution of 1024 x 768 and a PLS TFT display technology.
Both tablets run Qualcomm APQ 8016 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. They both run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and have a 1.5GB RAM and 16GB ROM. The memory can be expanded up to 128GB via memory card slot.
As for the battery, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has 4,200 mAh while the 9.7-inch version has a 6,000 mAh battery.
Other features of the tablets include SideSync, Downloadable Content, Microsoft Office, S Voice, Live Wallpapers, Samsung Widget Gallery and Milk Music.
