The 1997 classic video game, Final Fantasy 7 that had been held back due to iOS' app size limitation has finally been launched by Square Enix. According to Mmosite.com, the developers felt lucky when Apple allowed apps up to 4GB from 2GB on the App Store.  Wired.co.uk also reported that the developers had fulfilled their promise of launching Square Enix iOS Final Fantasy 7 game "before the end of summer" at E3, so it was not a surprise for the gamers.

A virtual on-screen controller has also been included in the Square Enix iOS Final Fantasy 7 game's iOS port, which offers virtual analogue or 4-way digital control pad options and adjustable on-screen controls, Macrumours.com reported. It also has a "Max Stats" command that can turn off enemy encounters in area maps in just a blink of eye. Their report suggested that the game takes 1.66GB of storage space as per the App Store description, but it requires 4GB of free space to download.

NextWeb.com claims that Square Enix iOS Final Fantasy 7 appears to be similar to its PC adaptation released in 2013. The new version may allow Cloud saves for usage on multiple devices, character stat boosts to move up stuck-up levels and might have slightly more optimised graphics to enrich the mobile gaming experience. A decent tap to walk system has replaced the original menus for combat and character management, to make it suitable for tablet play.

Latest addition to the line of FF mobile ports Final Fantasy 7 is compatible with iPhone 5s, third generation iPad, iPad mini 2 and their successors with iOS 8 or later, else the game might not perform well.  It has been rolled out for $19.99 NSD or US $15.99 and will spread eastwards within the next 24 hours.

Apart from the iOS version, a more elaborate remake of the Square Enix iOS Final Fantasy 7 for PS4 is underway. Wired.co.uk shared, the game would be directed by Tetsuya Nomura.
