Ellen DeGeneres Tries To Woo Portia De Rossi With Teen Choice Awards Dedication, Divorce Still Underway?
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are allegedly on the verge of a divorce after having unresolved issues and marital problems for months now.
However, new reports claimed that Ellen DeGeneres is purportedly trying her best to prevent a divorce. The talk show host has allegedly been trying to woo Portia De Rossi and patch things up in their damaged marriage.
According to ET Online, Ellen DeGeneres dedicated her Choice Comedian award at last weekend's Teen Choice Awards to Portia De Rossi. Apparently, it was also the couple's anniversary.
"What an amazing day this is. This is my seven-year wedding anniversary, so happy anniversary. It's yours, too," Ellen said while looking at Portia's direction.
The talk show host also spoke about being different and unique during her acceptance speech.
"It feels good to be chosen, but there was a time in my life where I was not chosen. I was the opposite of chosen because I was different," Ellen DeGeneres said, as quoted by Daily Mail.
"I think I want to make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now makes you stand out later in life," she continued. "You should be proud of being different. You should be proud of who you are."
According to Star Magazine's previous report, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have reportedly been going to couples' therapy to sort out their issues and prevent a looming divorce.
"It was a very unhealthy situation, but they have begun the healing process," a source told the magazine.
"They are finally dealing with their issues. Portia often complains that she feels bullied. With Ellen's show on hiatus for the summer, she is home bossing Portia around all day and expecting her to be at her beck and call."
In June, the couple has been spotted in Cape Town Airport after spending a week on a safari holiday at the luxury Sabi Sands Reserve lodge in Singita.
Some speculate that the trip was one of the couple's efforts at working at their relationship to prevent a possible divorce.
