Gears of War Ultimate Edition-Xbox One version is way more than just a prettier skin version of the classic "Gears." It exhibits redefined mechanics and delivers a smoother gameplay, all at 30fps.

Developers of the Ultimate edition, The Coalition have remastered the classic and lent it a full-on graphical facelift. They have introduced a new range of character models, refurbished environments and remade every cut-scene, to amp up the graphical quotient.

The "gore-filled and testosterone-fuelled sci-fi action extravaganza" was nearly at par with many recently introduced games, reported The Financial Post.

Even though several "third-person shooter games with an over-the-shoulder camera" have borrowed its intuitive cover system, Gears has managed to set itself apart, reported The Verge.Their reporters told, "Is something amazing happening outside your field of view, like a building collapsing or a helicopter crashing? Press Y when prompted, and the camera will swing in the event's direction, removing the need for a separate cut scene."

"Multiplayer Gears' mix of (Gears of War Ultimate Edition-Xbox One) twitch reflex and methodical sneaking can still eat your nights away," told Venture Beat.  Reporters added, "These maps flow from claustrophobic to expansive seamlessly, with choke points and ways to circumvent them aplenty."

"Co-op is still possible in split screen," said Forbes. Even though, co-op feature has become a rarity in modern-day console shooters, Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Xbox One masters it flawlessly. It even provides "drop-in/drop-out with individual difficulty levels," told the reporters.

Forbes added, "This (Co-op feature of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition-Xbox One) is great because you can play with a friend or girlfriend who may not be very good at the game, while you ratchet up your own difficulty."

Vine Report told that the players who played the Ultimate Edition from August 25 to December 31,2015 on Xbox live would get the all previous Gears for free via the Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature.

"Gears on Win10 is later than (Gears of War: Ultimate Edition) Xbox One version," tweeted the Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer.
