A recent 'Dancing With The Stars' Season 21 cast announcement revealed that actor Gary Busey would be joining the celebrity lineup. He is the ninth competitor to be announced. The first eight contenders are Victor Espinoza, Nick Carter, Chaka Khan, Hayes Grier, Bindi Irwin, Alexa Vega , Carlos Pena and Andy Grammer.

Gary Busey revealed his participation on DWTS season 21 on Tuesday on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

He burst into the studio in glittery cowboy suit, while riding on a white horse. During the interview, Jimmy asked him why he had decided to join the show. "I didn't have anything else to do," he replied.

Gary is not a stranger to reality TV. Previously, he had been on the "Celebrity Wife Swap," "Celebrity Paranormal Project," "Celebrity Rehab," "Celebrity Fight Club" and "The Celebrity Apprentice." Last summer, he won the show "Celebrity Big Brother."

In 1979, he had earned an Oscar nomination for playing the title role in "The Buddy Holly Story."

His life took an unfortunate turn in 1988. He met with an accident that left him with permanent brain damage.

Another "Dancing with the Stars" Season 21 cast announcement highlighted that Pro dancer and fan favorite, Peta Morgatroyd had been sidelined from the show due to medical complications.

"I got my MRI results back and it was a really bad diagnosis," Peta told People. "It showed I had 4 torn ligaments and a floating piece of bone at the back of my ankle. My doctor said I needed surgery," she added.

Peta told the reporters that her orthopedic surgeon had told her to rest for six to eight weeks after the surgery.

"It was awful telling Andy," she was quoted as saying in the US Mazine report. He had specifically asked to be partnered with me and I felt like I was letting him down." But, she plans to be in the rehearsal room as much as possible to assist Grammer and his partner with the choreography.

The complete "Dancing with the Stars' Season 21," cast announcement would be done on "Good Morning America," at 7a.m. ET on September 2, 2015
