Donald Trump Called Obama a Muslim?

Donald Trump is under scanner for calling the President Barrack Obama as Muslim. Trump was answering the questions at the town hall and was asked a question as to when the US can get rid of Muslim. He has already been known to have stirred some high profile controversies and this is the latest one from which even his own party has distanced itself, reported CNN. As CNN reported further, Donald Trump has caused enough controversies that would have ended other presidential campaigns.

One man from the crowd at the Town Hall questioned Trump that there is a problem in this country which is called as Muslims. Trump replied to the query that "You know our current president is one. You know he's not even an American." The real estate mogul did not correct the questioner about his claims about Obama before moving on to another audience member, said CNN.

Donald trump moved on quickly to the next question without addressing the questioner's assertions about the President that led to widespread misinterpretation and speculations about Trump's stand about Muslims.

Although Donald Trump did not address anything directly about President's nationality or religion but his inability to shut down man's highlighted inclination to court controversy towards minorities and immigrants, reported ABC News Australia.

Hillary Clinton tweeted to the incident on her Twitter account "Donald Trump not denouncing false statements about POTUS & hateful rhetoric about Muslims is disturbing, & just plain wrong. Cut it out. -H." Other fellow democrats also denounced the comment including Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley. Trump was termed a simple racist in a statement from the Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. They have also slammed him for not challenging the questioner and for answering ambiguous question about Muslims in the country.
