Usher, Grace Miguel Married Secretly: Ditched The Plan To Invite a 100 People
It came as a total surprise! Usher and his longtime girlfriend Grace Miguel are married.
The "U Got It Bad" crooner and girlfriend Grace Miguel got married without any of the celebrity pomp and show. After the wedding, the couple left to Cuba for their honeymoon over Labor Day weekend, Us Weekly confirmed.
According to one source, the couple had initially decided to get married before 100 guests. They ditched the plan and decided to elope instead. Following their secret nuptials, the newlyweds celebrated their honeymoon in Havana, Cuba, US Magazine reported.
In one Instagram photo posted by Miguel, Usher's new gold wedding band is on clear display. Usher and Miguel, who is also the R&B star's manager, have been together since 2009 and got engaged in January.
Miguel's engagement ring was massive, Page Six previously reported "you wouldn't think it was an engagement ring because it's so big," after the couple were spotted ringing in the New Year together at E11even nightclub in Miami, US weekly recalled.
After the engagement, Miguel was thrilled. "She's happy but they're trying to keep it quiet," an insider had told US Weekly then. The couple were very private about the engagement. They had looked cozy with one another at the Golden Globes Art of Elysium Heaven Gala in Los Angeles on Jan. 10. Miguel's ring finger was noticeably adorned with a giant diamond ring at the event.
"I have an incredible partner and manager," he gushed to Billboard in October 2014. "She has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and my career. She's someone who's been able to support and understand all of who I am. Not just as a dancer or as a performer or as a singer, but as a humanitarian and a business man and as a person."
Usher, who was previously married to Tameka Foster from 2007 to 2009, is dad to sons Naviyd Ely, 6, and Usher Raymond V, 7.
The star's representative was not available to respond to multiple requests for comment, US Weekly added.
