No.12 Clemson Football with No. 06 Notre Dame in Death Valley was a battle of survival for the teams. Most critics view that the match remains one of the most crucial one for Clemson. There are several reasons attributed to the view one of them being Clemson resides in the ACC -- a conference that is widely regarded as the weakest among the Power 5, said ESPN.

The ACC is 3-10 in nonconference games against Power 5 opponents. Further ACC has already incurred four losses to Group of 5 teams. ACC is left with only two ranked teams #11 Florida and #12 Clemson as Georgia Tech has already disappointed in the early going.

As the match started on Saturday night, Clemson Tigers kicker Ammon Lakip forced a fumble with a textbook tackle. On the opening kickoff of the second half, Lakip tackled Notre Dame Returner C.J. Sanders and knocked the ball loose with his helmet, reported SI.com. The Tigers recovered the fumble and scored a touchdown on the drive. The Fighting Irish fumbled on their next possession as well

Clemson wide receiver Artavis Scott who is only 5-10, 190 pounds made a big time play early on during the #12 Tigers 24-22 win over No. 6 Notre Dame, said Fox Sports. The sophomore wide receiver hauled in a pass from Tigers quarterback Deshaun Watson at the Fighting Irish five-yard line, then shrugged off two Notre Dame Defenders and crossed the goal line to complete a 13-yard TD pass.

Clemson's football is known best for its defense and should not come as a surprise in the Saturday night event as well, said Grantland
