Kim Myung Soo, known to kpop fans as L will play the young So Ji Sub in the upcoming fusion drama "The Master's Sun." The role was originally given to ZE:A's Hyungsik but it conflicted with the idol-actor's music schedule and he signed on for a role in "The Heirs" with Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho.

This is not L's first acting role. He was the ambitious band member who was groomed to become an idol in "Shut Up Flower Boy Band." He appeared in a Japanese drama as well as the Korean drama "What Is A Mother." His band Infinite recently enjoyed a comeback with a single album titled "Destiny." The song's music video was filmed on movie sets and abandoned landscapes, giving it a dramatic and cinematic feel. During the filming of "The Master's Sun," L will also join fellow Infinite band members to promote the new album. He will only appear in a few of the drama's scenes.

The 21-year-old singer, dancer and actor will play the young Joo Joong Won, who as an adult is the greedy arrogant owner of a shopping center. Joo Joong Won has been described as a man who can only understand things in terms of their monetary value. If you can't buy it, he doesn't care about it, which interferes with his developing a genuine relationship. L's cameo appearances as his younger self will show how the character turned so cold.

Joo Joong Won, however, will have a change of heart due to a female employee named Tae Kong Sil. Tae, played by Gong Hyo Jin, is a sensitive woman who can see ghosts and this unsettling development keeps her awake at night. But it won't be easy for her to explain this to Joo Joong Won.

According to Bon Factory, the drama's production company, "The Master's Sun" will be something completely different. It will be a drama genre that viewers have not seen before.

"The fusion of romantic comedy and horror has made for a fun new genre that viewers will relate to emotionally," said a representative of Bon Factory.

The Hong Sisters, who created the dramas "You're Beautiful," "Big," "The Greatest Love' and "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho," have written the screenplay for "The Master's Sun." Jin Hyuk, who directed "City Hunter" is the director.

The drama will air on August 7, taking the time slot previously filled by "I Hear Your Voice."
