Park Ha Sun Surprised by Namgoong Min’s Transformation in ‘The Veil’ + Screenwriter Praises Lead Stars for Impressive Skills

With less than two weeks from the much-awaited premiere, MBC continues to entice fans with an intriguing teaser and striking still cuts featuring lead stars Namgoong Min, Park Ha Sun, and Kim Ji Eun's new K-drama "The Veil."

The broadcast network celebrates its 60th anniversary with a special series helmed by PD Kim Sung Yong, penned by Park Seok Ho, who took home the 2018 MBC Drama Script Competition.

In a report cited by iMBC Entertainment News, the drama's screenwriter shares his thoughts regarding the forthcoming series and his experience working alongside the lead stars.

"The Veil" follows the story of a top field National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent, Han Ji Hyuk, who is known for his successful mission and combat skills.

With Ji Hyuk's outstanding performance in the field, he earned the trust of his superior and is highly regarded by his colleagues.

One of his beloved teammates is Seo Soo Yoon, played by Park Ha Sun, the NIS' Crime Information Center team leader.

Little did he know that she was hiding a secret that would raise the question regarding her agenda.

As for the top elite agent, he met his unfortunate downfall after a traitor plotted his demise, causing Han Ji Hyuk's devastation as he vanished in the face of the earth.

After missing for over a year, he made a bold return as a member of the organization and to hunt down the traitor who made him suffer.

On the other hand, Kim Ji Eun portrays Yoo Je Yi, whose dream is to become one of the best in NIS and is currently Han Ji Hyuk's partner.

'The Veil' Screenwriter Lauded the Lead Stars with their Impressive Portrayal of Elite Agents

In his latest interview, screenwriter Park Seok Ho showed the actors with good words praising them for their outstanding acting skills.

He mentioned how Namgoong Min and Park Ha Sun were immersed in their respective roles and showed a "very deep passion for acting."

As for the rookie actress, the screenwriter recalled the first time she met Kim Ji Eun and described her as a "great actress."

Moreover, "The Veil" writer also revealed that the 27-year-old beauty is easy to work with and has a unique and lively aura on the set.

"I met actress Kim Ji Eun while working on 'Doctor Prisoner' and thought 'She's a great actress! I remember meeting her again at the commercial set, and it was nice to work together again through 'The Veil.'"

After MBC confirmed its lead cast for "The Veil," Namgoong Min surprised not just his Instagram followers but also his co-star Park Ha Sun with his intense transformation.

According to the outlet, she was "surprised" how the actor managed to bulk up in just a matter of weeks.

In addition, she pointed out the actor's dedication to his character, adding, "He is famous for his hard work, but this time he felt and learned a lot."

To recall, media outlets noted that the "Hot Stove League" star purposely gained 10kg of muscle to portray Ha Ji Hyuk.

Namgoong Min's K-drama "The Veil" is set to be released on September 17 airing every Friday and Saturday.
