Namgoong Min Reveals Why he Chose to Star in MBC’s ‘The Veil’ + Upcoming Action Crime K-Drama Drops New Still Cuts
Namgoong Min shares his thoughts as he transforms as a top elite agency in his upcoming K-drama "The Veil."
In MBC's action crime series, the 43-year-old actor took on the role of Han Ji Hyuk, National Intelligence Service's best field agent.

Why Namgoong Min Said Yes to his Role as Secret Agent Han Ji Hyuk

During his recent interview, he mentioned that prior to being casted in "The Veil," Namgoong Min wished to star in the drama that has "heavy resonance," evoking deep emotions in character.
To recall, the award-winning actor confirmed to appear in the MBC series back in December 2020 raised curiosity on his next project after the hit series "Awaken."
Apart from its lead star, "The Veil" also gained massive attention from fans due to its reported $13.7 million or 15 billion won production budget.
Despite this, the actor has a deeper reason why he chose to star in the drama.
Namgoong Min admitted that he has an extraordinary affection for his character that portrays a dark and intense state.
"Han Ji Hyuk is an agent who returned to the National Intelligence Service with lost memories, and he has to find a traitor in his lost memories, and he is a person with anxiety and sharpness that no one can easily trust," he explained, adding the difficulties filming his role, "It was not easy to express such sensitivity and sharpness and maintain his emotions."

Namgoong Min Cites his Similarities to his Character in 'The Veil'
When asked regarding his similarities with Han Ji Hyuk, the "Hot Stove League" star mentioned that there is hardly any resemblance between him and his character; however, if there's one similarity, it would be running towards one goal without giving up.
"If it is Han Ji Hyuk who risks everything he has to go towards his goal in order to find the traitor inside, I think it would be similar that Namgoong Min as an actor also puts everything to immerse himself in it," he explained.
In Namgoong Min's new drama, he is not just the top agent but known for his extraordinary mission that he successfully completed.
Moreover, his character possesses a perfect record and impeccable fighting skills, making him highly regarded in the field.
Unfortunately, his outstanding capabilities and nearly perfect mission led him to his downfall and mysteriously vanished in the face of the earth.
Miraculously, Han Ji Hyuk returned after going missing for a year; however, this time, he made a bold comeback as part of the organized crime syndicate, with hopes of tracking the traitor responsible for his devastating fate.

As part of the MBC's 60th anniversary, the broadcast network is gearing up for the much-awaited premiere of "The Veil."
