"Money Heist: Korea" cast shared their experience and thoughts about one of the most awaited remakes of the year.

Director Kim Hong Seo and screenwriter Ryu Yong Jae, alongside lead stars Park Hae Soo, Yoo Ji Tae, Jeon Jong Seo, Kim Ji Hoon, Lee Won Jong, Kim Yoon Jin, and more, graced the press conference ahead of the premiere.

At the media briefing, the team was asked about their thoughts on whether "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" will achieve the same fame or even surpass the success of "Squid Game."

As noted by an outlet, instead of choosing, Director Kim Hong Seo expressed his gratitude towards the fame of "Squid Game" and pointed out that because of the hit series "a lot of Korean content is doing well."

For the filmmaker, he emphasized that if "Money Heist: Korea '' goes well, he thinks that it will open the way for those movies and series that came after the remake.

But of course, he also wished that the Korean adaptation would be close to the success of "Squid Game."

Both "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" and "Squid Game" are under the streaming giant Netflix.

In 2021, the Hwang Dong Hyuk-directed K-series became Netflix's biggest show after gaining massive hype and not to mention almost $900 million in value for the company.

While the "Money Heist" Korean adaptation boasts a star-studded and impressive cast lineup, one of the familiar faces is Park Hae Soo.

To recall, he portrayed Lee Jung Jae's character, Seong Gi Hoon's childhood friend, Cho Sang Woo.

He is known in their little neighborhood as a successful financial analyst in Seoul but little did they know that he is also struggling to pay his debts; hence, he and Seung Gi Hoon reunited in the arena.

After almost a year, he returns on Netflix, headlining the most awaited remake of 2022.

From debt ridden in "Squid Game," he transforms as the notorious Berlin, who is among the members of the gang.

Like the director, he was also asked the same question, given he starred in both "Squid Game'' and "Money Heist: Korea."

As obtained by the same outlet, Park Hae Soo said that as an actor, he is not "quite sure" whether it will be a big hit like the 2021 series.

However, he mentioned that the "big advantage" of "Money Heist: Korea" is that it "has a different background and reality."

It portrays various characters and new ones as compared to the original series.

"Rather than a competition, I think we will be able to meet more viewers in the future," he said regarding whether the Korean adaptation will have the same achievements as the Lee Jung Jae-led K-series.

Park Hae Soo's character, Berlin, whose real name is Andrés de Fonollosa, is initially played by Pedro Alonso.

Due to the overwhelming success, "Money Heist" or "La Casa De Papel" was renewed for five seasons.

On the other hand, the "Money Heist" Korean remake will be available on Netflix on June 24 with a total of 12 episodes.
