Upcoming Movies 2015: Star Wars, The Hunger Games, Alvin & The Chipmunks – Which Sequel Will Reign This Last Quarter?

Film lovers are looking forward to several upcoming movies this last quarter of 2015.

One of the most anticipated sequels this quarter is "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2," which opens on Nov. 20.

According to a survey by Piedmont Media Research published in Variety in late September, the second part of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" topped the list of upcoming movies for 2015.

"While last year's 'Mockingjay Part 1' was the weakest instalment of the saga so far, bereft of Arena action and with the exploration of the love triangle of Katniss, Peeta and Gale increasingly ponderous, part two promises the chance to see Donald Sutherland's President Snow finally get his comeuppance, along with the inevitable downfall of the uber-dandyish citizens of the Capitol," The Guardian reported.

A lot of fans are also anticipating the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which opens on Dec. 18.

This "Star Wars" movie has placed second on Piedmont Media Research's survey of the most anticipated upcoming movies this 2015.

Disney has only made "Star Wars" fans more excited over the movie by adding "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," to Disney Infinity.

"This December, a new generation of Star Wars fans will be able to go directly from the theater showing 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' to becoming Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron and Kylo Ren themselves with the release of the Force Awakens playset for Disney Infinity 3.0," The Hollywood Reporter wrote.

Though "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip" didn't make it to the top anticipated upcoming movies this 2015, many kids and children at heart are excited to see Alvin, Simon and Theodore on the big screen once again.

"Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City...and dump them," the movie's synopsis in Cinemablend read.

"They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother."

"Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip" opens on December 23.
