Bruce Springsteen 'The River' New Box Set Release Date And List of Songs Featured

Long awaited Bruce Springsteen "The River" is being released as "The Ties That Bind: The River Collection" on December 4, 2015.

Springsteen's album "The River" is expanded and reworked for a new box set collection which will be released on Friday, December 4 available as four CDs and three DVDs/Blue rays package. The collections include tracks from the album "The River" that Springsteen had planned to release back in 1979 with the title "The Ties That Bind," 11 unreleased outtakes from the album, a new documentary filmed on the "The River" tour and 10 tracks from other packages, according to Rolling Stone.

As for the documentary, it was produced and directed by one of Springsteen's collaborator's Thom Zimny. The documentary features Springsteen performing the tracks from "The River" with his acoustic guitar as well as photos and concert footages filmed during his period. Springsteen is seen performing "Point Blank" "Independence Day," and "Wreck On The Highway" while explaining the background of the songs in a garage.

"I wanted to write songs of breadth that had some depth to them," said Springsteen in The Ties That Bind. "And I knew I wanted to write about the place I lived and I wanted to write about social forces that I felt played through that history. I devoured quite a few history books at the time trying to get a sense of where everything came from," he added, reported Ultimate Classis Rock
