There's More Than One Co-Star Reunion In 'She Was Pretty'

Fans of "She Was Pretty" probably already know that the makeover comedy involves at least one reunion. Hwang Jung Eum, who plays Kim Hye Jin, previously co-starred with Park Seo Joon, who plays her first love. They played adoptive brother and sister in the drama "Kill Me, Heal Me." They had so much chemistry in that drama, the producers of "She Was Pretty" saw them as a natural choice for a romantic duo.

But there's also another co-star reunion in the drama. The other co-star reunion involves Hwang Jung Eum and actress Go Jun Hee, who plays her very pretty best friend Min Ha Ri.

The Korean media outlet Insight recently pointed out that the actresses also appeared together in the 2011 drama "Can You Hear My Heart." And their characters were in love with the same man, played by Kim Jae Won. They played romantic rivals before, even if their previous characters were not lifelong best friends like their  "She Was Pretty" characters. Their "She Was Pretty" characters are so close they refer to each other as "wife."

In real life the actresses are not quite that close but they are friends. When Hwang Jung Eum appeared on the October 14 broadcast of the Naver V app, she spoke about how she enjoyed working with her former co-star.

'Go Jun Hee and I starred in 'Can You Hear My Heart' together," said Hwang. "That's why we're friendly with each other. We talk a lot on the set as well. We get along as friends.":

But Hwang also had something to say about Go Jun Hee's character and the meaning of friendship. In the comedy Min Ha Ri is secretly dating Kim Hye Jin's first love, pretending to be her.

"I can't understand a friend like Min Ha Ri," said Hwang Jung Eum. "How could she do that to a friend? That's why you should not show your boyfriend your pretty friends."

In Min Ha Ri's defense, though, it was Kim Hye Jin that set up the fake relationship in the first place. What do you think will happen when she finds out that her best friend has been seeing her first love? Will she forgive her best friend? Should she?
