Jared Leto has been gaining a lot of attention for his role as Joker even before "Suicide Squad" hits theaters.

Many fans have been applauding the actor's faithfulness to Joker, but some argue that Jared Leto may have gone a little overboard in playing the comic supervillain by heart.

During a question and answer session with his band, Thirty Seconds To Mars in Dubai Music Week, the "Suicide Squad" star addressed someone who attended in a Batman shirt.

"You're really brave," Leto said, as quoted by The National. "I can't wait for you to see this - they're going to lock me away in a box after this movie comes out."

Though some may argue that Jared is just being humorous, there are those who speculate that the actor might be taking his Joker character a little too seriously.

In an article entitled "Has Jared Leto Gone Too Far As The Joker In Suicide Squad?" published in Movie Pilot, Eleanor Tremeer discussed the possibility that Jared might have gone "too far into the role."

"Acting Like A Criminal? ...Honestly, I cannot decide whether Leto's turn as the Joker is excellent casting or whether he's overselling the role. I mean, the 'lock me away in a box' comment was clearly a joke but I'm hoping he realises he doesn't actually have to commit crimes in order to prove his worth," the article said.

"Still, his behaviour really is a fantastic hype machine for Suicide Squad, as he provides promotion for the film with every chance he gets."

More than a month after "Suicide Squad" wrapped up, there are rumors that Jared Leto could still be channeling his Joker personality.

"The 43-year-old star looked twice as nice as he went for a stroll in New York City's SoHo neighbourhood," Daily Mail previously reported earlier.

"Jared's brightly patterned harem trousers and colour-slashed poncho went well with his slicked back hair, which he died pink not long after wrapping up his role as The Joker in the superhero flick Suicide Squad six weeks ago."

"The star is known for his Method acting style, in which he stays inside the mind of the character he's playing even away from the camera," the report continued.
