Legendary Hollywood actress Maureen O'Hara passed away peacefully on Saturday, 24 October, 2015 leaving behind her glorious legacy at the age of 95.

O'Hara who entered Hollywood in 1939 kick started her career with one of her classic movies "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." The Irish-American actress is well known for her roles in "Miracle on 34th Street," "How Green Was My Valley," "The Parent Trap" and "The Quiet Man," according to MSNBC.

"She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her life listening to music from her favorite movie, 'The Quiet Man,'" said her family members in their statement. O'Hara's long-time manager Johnny Nicolette reported that the actress died while she was asleep at her home in Boise, Idaho.

Maureen FitzSimons who is known as Maureen O'Hara in Hollywood was born in Dublin in 1920. O'Hara's father owned a string of soccer teams and mother was an Opera singer. The actress and her five siblings were introduced to theatres by her mother who was quite a renowned singer then. O'Hara was called as the "Queen of Technicolor" for her fiery red hair, striking complexion and her distinct on-screen performance.  

"As an actress, Maureen O'Hara brought unyielding strength and sudden sensitivity to every role she played. Her characters were feisty and fearless, just as she was in real life. She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world," said a family biography, reported Fox News.

"RIP #MaureenOHara from one tough redhead broad to another. Thankful for the light you shared" wrote Jessica Chastian in Twitter on O'Hara's demise.

"Rest in peace, Maureen O'Hara. You were an inspiration to those of us who worked on the '94 Miracle, and to so many others," Mara Wilson said in Twitter. "R.I.P. Maureen O'Hara. A redhead so striking they invented Technicolor for her," wrote Edgar Wright in a Twitter post.
