Gigi Hadid And Joe Jonas Split Because Of Her Ex, Nick Jonas? Romance Caused Family Rift?

All eyes were on Joe Jonas as he performed for the first time after his reported split with Gigi Hadid.

Many have noticed that Joe Jonas was quite emotional during his song number in Hollywood last Wednesday night, and some speculate that the singer channeled out his feelings about his breakup into the performance.

"Joe and Gigi's relationship recently ended," an insider told People. "Nothing serious happened ... it wasn't a dramatic break up. It was just hard to make it work with their schedules. They will definitely remain friends."

Despite sources claiming that their careers and hectic schedules were the reason behind the breakup, there are speculations that the ex-couple was faced with a much bigger problem - Gigi Hadid's ex-boyfriend and Joe's brother, Nick Jonas.

It could be recounted that Gigi Hadid and Nick Jonas dated on and off a few years back.

There have been previous rumors that the teen model has caused a wedge between Nick and Joe recently.

"Nick and Gigi dated several times in 2012 and 2013," a source previously told Radar Online back when Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas were still dating.

"It was an ongoing thing. The fact that Joe and Gigi are hanging out now is just strange."

Aside from Nick, Joe and Gigi's relationship also did not sit well with someone from the model's side - her friend, Blanda Eggenschwiler, was Joe's ex-girlfriend.

"The 29-year-old, who dated Joe for 20 months before calling time on their romance in early August, is actually a close friend of Gigi's and is none too happy about the betrayal," Daily Mail reported in September.

Was Nick Jonas a big part of the reason why Gigi and Joe called it quits? Did Joe realize that no girl should come between he and his brother? And did Blanda Eggenschwiler's friendship mean too much to Gigi that she's willing to let go of Joe?

It may not be clear right now, as both Gigi and Joe's camps are keeping mum about the issue.
