Samsung Group is positioning itself at the core of enterprise network solution, unveiling Internet of Things or IoT Access Points to support interfaces like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, ZigBee and Outdoor Mesh AP, the industry's smallest, reported SamsungTomorrow.

The South Korean tech titan's Wireless LAN solutions likewise provide enhanced user-end experiences with maximum airtime for devices, battery life preservation and faster connectivity.

According to Top-Mesh, Samsung is set to benefit from these IoT access points it provides as its related enterprise case is a sure thing considering that the sector will be worth 8.9 trillion by 2020 with 12 billion connected devices.

IoT makes all devices and appliances smarter as they connect and "talk" to each other for human convenience and comfort. These days, the mobile-first workforce means fast and wireless access to the Internet and connected devices. Wireless tech is a common thing and the center of network solutions.

The IoT requires that the connection and integration of devices which communication with each other is effectively guided. There is a need for the right technology so seamless connection of devices is achieved.

Efficiency in business environments heavily rely on fast network that meet the bandwidth demand. Samsung's WLAN solutions are there to support the activities of enterprises like user-owned device, consumption of digital content and IoT.

WLAN is a local area network that makes it high-speed Internet connection possible in a certain distance where wireless devices connect via an access point. This year, Samsung launched two types of WLAN products - the one that supports the IoT Access Points and the Outdoor Mesh AP.

The IoT AP is the industry's first which supports the tech of Wi-Fi, BLE and ZigBee technologies. According to Networks Business Principle Engineer Deahyun Lee, "The product was developed with the most careful consideration of the implementation of the highest level of technology so that problems such as interference did not take place when supporting Wi-Fi, ZigBee and BLE technology."

As per Top-Mesh, supporting Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is not that remarkable, but doing the same for ZigBee, the standard that is the core of IoT and BLE sets it apart from its rivals. The ZigBee Alliance-developed Zigbee is a wireless standard for devices to communicate with each other, and provides the IoT and BLE foundation, said Business Korea. It is said to be less expensive to implement compared to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is reliable, interoperable, secure  and uses minimal amount of power, which is crucial for IoT companies.

Meanwhile, the Outdoor Mesh AP allows wireless connection of APs, instead of using wired network cables. Its main benefit is reducing deployment costs and the elimination of physical restrictions.
