Jordan Clarkson has vowed during a breakout season in 2014 that he's going to play with a huge chip on his shoulder this NBA season. And although the Los Angeles Lakers struggled, the 6-3 continues his brilliant play.

"As the Lakers' current leader in total minutes, shots and points, Clarkson doubles as one of the most effective scorers in the entire league," said Bleacher Report.

"According to Basketball-Reference.com, among players who average at least 30 minutes per game, Clarkson is one of four who are making at least 44 percent of their threes and 45 percent of their overall field goals," it said.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson scores on a myriad of shots from floaters, mid-range jumpers, dunks, layups and from beyond the arc which revealed that he relies more than just athleticism and speed.

But then this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Jordan Clarkson said last year that being bypassed by so many teams and picked 46th by the Los Angeles Lakers allowed him to play with a huge chip on his shoulder.

"It was just always in my head. From day one in summer league, I had a chip on my shoulder. I don't look at the numbers, but every time I stepped on the floor, I was just trying to prove people wrong," he told NBA.com in September last year.

"I'm a second-round pick - 46th pick. It's always gonna be on my mind. ... I'm never going to forget draft day."

Jordan Clarkson continued, "It's motivating for me. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to play for this organization in this league. I think I watched the draft maybe like 10 times throughout the year. ... I don't look at it like, 'I should've been drafted there.' Everything happens for a reason."

This season, Jordan Clarkson is averaging 15.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists through 12 games for the Los Angeles Lakers.
